USA Anti-FGM Law Struck Down

In November, 2018, the USA’s Anti-Female Genital Mutilation law was deemed unconstitutional by a judge in Michigan.  In April 2019 the Federal government decided to concede to this ruling.   GenitalAutonomySociety.org believes that any Forced Genital Mutilation/Modification without medical necessity is a violation of that person’s human rights and that a special law is not required.  We support organizations worldwide that are attempting to put an end to all genital mutilations independent of assigned gender at birth.  Please register at our site to show your support.  Your voice IS counted.

2019 is upon us!

Hello intactivists and others who speak out for genital autonomy!

2018 has been a huge year for genital autonomy!  We have seen the documentary American Circumcision roll out on all the popular platforms which has led to a flurry of discussions on various social media platforms.  We have seen record numbers of protesters with the Bloodstained Men as well as many solo protests.  Many new Facebook groups have been created, including:

If anyone you know fits one of these groups, please be sure to let them know about them.  Membership is important to let the world know how many of these people exist.

Your Whole Baby has put up multiple billboards, continued to grow their social media coverage and started a group for regret parents on Facebook.

Intaction has also been very active in the media this year.  Their mobile billboard has been running around a lot too!

Genital autonomy has also had a setback; that is, if you decide to look at it that way.  In November, a US federal judge ruled the anti-FGM law unconstitutional and that the states needed to enforce this sort of activity instead of the federal government.  Personally, I see this as an opportunity to increase awareness and to bring together a united front against ALL genital cutting of children.

For starters, I created a petition for my state (Washington), which was duplicated for California:

I hope others decide to do the same for their state.

There are many activities that one can do to help make this critical change in the world.  I know many people want to do more, but are unsure of exactly what to do, how to do it and they (understandably) don’t want to go it alone.  I feel that I have a duty to speak out for the next generation’s human rights. That is why I created this site: to connect all who desire to support genital autonomy.  Please register yourself and update your profile with your location (at least state), special knowledge and sorts of tasks you are interested in.  Emails will be sent to you for activities that fit you with instructions as to who to contact.  A list of existing activities can be found here.

Thank you for all of your intactivism work, I sincerely believe the next generation appreciates it!

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!  The intention of this site is to allow for people and organizations to register themselves as supporters of genital autonomy.

Individuals will be able to identify themselves as healing arts professionals (i.e. doctors / midwives / nurses / doulas / etc.) so others can look for a professional in their area (much like what’s on Your Whole Baby).  Individuals will also be able to identify themselves as intactivists and identify the kinds of intactivism they are interested in.  This will provide ways for intactivism organizations to recruit intactivists with specific skills and desires to help for specific efforts and events.

I’m hoping for-profit organizations will register and donate in order to get advertising.  I want to design it so people can donate at this organization and choose percentages of their donations to go to other organizations, but, get credit for doing so here.

Some of the organizations that I desire to support include, but are not limited to:

  • Genital Autonomy
  • Genital Autonomy of America (used to be NO-CIRC)
  • Your Whole Baby
  • Bloodstained Men
  • Intact America
  • Doctors Opposing Circumcision
  • Circumcision Resources
  • 28 Too Many (anti-FGM in Africa)
  • CAGeM
  • The Orchid Project
  • The Global Alliance Against Female Genital Mutilation
  • Stop-IGM.org

Here are some efforts I would like to help fund that are not currently being addressed by these organizations:

  • Make sure every library has a copy of the documentary American Circumcision as well as many great books on topics regarding genital autonomy.
  • Support activists that are attempting outreach to government representatives to create laws supporting the human right.
  • Support efforts to correct text books (and other media), that are being used by educational institutions, with more accurate information regarding the anatomy of genitalia.  As well as supporting the distribution of those resources to the educational institutions.
